Nidal Hasan warned that "adverse events" could occur if Muslims weren't allowed to leave the US military in a bizarre presentation he gave to Army physicians in 2007 at the end of his residency at Walter Reed Medical Center. The psychiatrist lectured senior doctors on Islam, the Koran, and suicide bombings in the PowerPoint presentation, according to a copy obtained by the Washington Post. "We love death more then you love life!," he wrote on one slide.
"Fighting to establish an Islamic State to please God, even by force, is condoned by the Islam," Hasan wrote under "Conclusions." He recommended that Muslims in the military be given the option of becoming conscientious objectors. The presentation left the doctors looking "really upset," according to a staff member, although it is unclear whether any of them reported Hasan's lecture to authorities.
