Though all political vetoes send some message, a recent one by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appears to carry two—with the less-obvious one quite the kiss-off to the Democrat-controlled legislature. In the message accompanying Schwarzenegger’s veto of a financing measure, the San Francisco Bay Guardian found that, in reading down the left side of the copy, the first letters of lines in the middle section spell out F-U-C-K Y-O-U.
The bill was authored by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, who recently heckled the Governator at a Democratic dinner and, reportedly, told him to “kiss my gay ass.” Said a Schwarzenegger rep, “what a strange coincidence”—though the Guardian notes he was “clearly being sarcastic.” Wired got the same response, with the governor’s rep adding that he’s hidden words in correspondence before. Words like “soap,” “poet,” and “ear.” Indeed.
