A Manhattan couples therapist—who once told the New York Times the biggest problem between men and women is communication—is accused of knifing her husband in an argument. Joyce Poster-Lederman—or, as the Post calls her, “the frustrated female Freudian”—allegedly blew up during a fight at home Sept. 29, yelling “Get out!” at hubby (and fellow psychologist) Selwyn Lederman before slashing his knees, ankle, and thumb with a pair of knives.
The Times used Poster-Lederman, 64, as a marriage expert in the midst of the early '90s unraveling between Woody Allen and Mia Farrow. She faces assault charges in court today. Lederman, 79, tells the Post, “I have no comment about it. I don't want to deal with that at all, zero. Just let it go.” Poster-Lederman’s lawyer says the whole thing is “a little bit of a misunderstanding.” (More psychology stories.)
