Curt Schilling Nixes Run for Kennedy Seat

Curt Schilling won’t be jumping into the political ring after all. The Red Sox legend ruled out a run for Ted Kennedy’s senate seat last night on Joe Buck Live, saying it “just did not make sense.” Schilling, an outspoken conservative, had publicly considered running, and even drew support from party big-wigs like John McCain. Without him, the GOP will be left running State Sen. Scott Brown.

On his blog, Schilling said he might someday make a run, but that he didn’t have the time or experience right now. “This state is in desperate need of someone new, someone fresh, someone completely dedicated to the constituents of the Commonwealth,” he said. “While I think I would be all three, it’s a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 day a year job.”
