A fugitive who’d dodged the law for days was nabbed when he fell asleep after taking a pair of newlyweds hostage in Kansas, AP reports. The couple gave the escaped con pillows and blankets and slipped out unharmed after he dozed off. Now, he’s set to return to Colorado to be charged in a motel murder.

Jesse Dennis Dimmick, armed with a pocket knife, shoved his way into the couple's home after crashing a car, said family members. “They didn't know where he came from," said a relative. The newlyweds managed to text-message relatives after Dimmick barged in. He is also suspected in burglaries in Colorado, North Carolina, and Louisiana.
