Once pilloried for her lack of foreign policy experience—except for Russia, which she said she could see from Alaska—Sarah Palin will make her first trip to Asia in September. The former Alaska governor will visit Hong Kong to address the CLSA Investors Forum, a prominent conference of global investment managers, the host announced today. Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and Alan Greenspan have spoken at the event.
"Our keynote speakers are notable luminaries who often address topics that go beyond traditional finance such as geopolitics," reads the company statement. "We just felt it would be a fabulous opportunity for CLSA clients to hear from Mrs. Palin." Meanwhile, Palin has gotten offers from 20 speakers bureaus, Politico reports. She's received 950 requests for speeches, and 120 candidates have asked her to make campaign appearances, aides say. She's estimated to be 85% finished with her book, which is due out in the spring.
