Authorities in a Detroit suburb say they’ve found more than 150 dead dogs in a house where more than 100 live Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes were found during the previous 2 days, the Free Press reports. The search began following a neighbor’s complaint earlier this week about a foul smell coming from the home of Kenneth Lang Jr., 56.
The dead dogs were found in several freezers in the basement; police are continuing to search the property for more animals. “I can’t answer why anyone would do anything that went on in that house,” said Dearborn police chief Ronald Haddad, adding that Lang seemed confused and unable to care for himself when officers first showed up Wednesday.
