Found: Missing Mental Health Records of Va. Tech Shooter

The mental health records of the gunman behind the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre have been found in the home of a former director of the university’s clinic, reports the AP. Seung-Hui Cho’s records were illegally taken from the clinic more than a year before the attack, says a memo from Gov. Tim Kaine’s legal counsel. Police are investigating.

Kaine expressed disappointment that the records had remained missing until a lawsuit by victims’ families prompted their discovery. The delay sparks questions over the state's investigation. “Deception comes to my mind,” says the mother of a student injured in Cho's rampage. “It gives me the impression: ‘What else are they hiding?’” The state intends to release the records soon.
