Count Sonia Sotomayor's Princeton thesis adviser among her strongest supporters to reach the Supreme Court. Peter Winn, writing in the Washington Post, recalls that her judicial skills were evident even as an undergrad. "After conquering Princeton, she is unlikely to be fazed by another institution legendary for its white alpha males—the Supreme Court," writes Peter Winn.
One of Princeton's few Latinos, a shy Sotomayor overcame difficulties writing with Ivy League clarity to pen a grade-A, 178-page thesis. "Her argument—carefully reasoned and supported by evidence from diverse sources—is the kind of judicious analysis that might have led a clairvoyant reader to predict a successful career on the bench," Winn writes.
