The Los Angeles coroner has subpoenaed all of Michael Jackson's medical records, and his family has been told that the investigation into his death could become a criminal prosecution, a source tells CNN. Detectives have spoken to several of Jackson's past and present doctors, and they will decide whether to treat the singer's death as a homicide or an accidental overdose when the results of toxicology reports are in, said LAPD police chief William Bratton.
"We are still awaiting corroboration from the coroner's office as to cause of death," Bratton said, adding that items removed from Jackson's home are aiding the investigation. The coroner's office subpoenas have demanded "any and all" of Jackson's medical records, "including radiology and psychiatric records," a source told the Los Angeles Times. Jackson was treated by more than a dozen doctors since 1993.
