Escobosa, U.S. Navy) Following a particularly stinging piece about her in Vanity Fair, the pendulum has swung again, and Sarah Palin seems to be winning back GOP support after months of ridicule. The feeling within the party is that “enough is enough,” writes Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post. “Sarah Palin will be a leader in this party," said RNC chair Michael Steele. "She has the ability to galvanize the base, and even folks outside the base.” A senior adviser to Palin on the 2008 campaign trail said he had grown “to like and respect her even more as did many of the folks on the plane.” Those launching attacks on Palin should “stand up and prove them on the record or move on with their lives like Sarah Palin has.” Continuing critical press can actually help public figures with a “boomerang effect,” Cillizza notes.
