Scribe Blames Obama for Dave's Palin Jokes

A conservative columnist yesterday blamed Barack Obama for David Letterman's cracks about Sarah Palin's "slutty" look and her daughter, reports the Huffington Post. "This is the enduring legacy of the Obama campaign," SE Cupp, who writes for the Washington Post and Politico, told Sean Hannity. "I blame Barack Obama because he allowed his surrogates in the media and Hollywood and everyone else on the left to do this dirty talking for him."

Cupp called on the president to condemn Letterman and declare that "this kind of rhetoric will not be tolerated." Palin reacted angrily when Letterman referred to her "slutty-flight-attendant look" and quipped that her daughter got "knocked up" by Alex Rodriguez. Letterman later clarified that the Rodriguez joke did not refer to Palin's 14-year-old daughter, as the Alaska governor had charged, but to Bristol, who "I'm sorry, did get knocked up," he said.
