GOP presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, who likes to capitalize on the hours he clocked at Ground Zero after 9/11, actually spent more time with the Yankees than he did with rescue workers, Salon reports. In a 40-day period following 9/11 Giuliani spent some 58 hours traveling to games, watching them and partying with his beloved Yankees, who made the World Series that year.
In contrast, Rudy spent only 29 hours at Ground Zero from Sept. 17 to Dec. 16, the New York Times reported yesterday. The former New York City mayor has said he spent so much time with rescue workers that he was "in a sense one of them." In fact, he was "one of the Yankees," says Salon's Alex Koppelman.
