Despite his 50-game suspension for performance-enhancing drug use, Manny Ramirez is in the running for a spot in the All-Star game, currently just 30,000 votes shy of an outfield post, New York magazine reports. While the media’s upset about it, the Dodgers’ owner likes the idea, and a "Vote for Manny" blog aims to get him on the team.

"There are few things left that allow fans to have a subversive—and helpful—voice in their sports, and this might be one of them," writes Will Leitch, who wonders if people might be tired of the media's "hypocritical obsession" with performance enhancers. But would Ramirez even play? “After all, he has a tendency to skip the All-Star game even when he isn’t sitting out a third of the season with a suspension,” Leitch notes.
