The mayor of Worthing, England, has become a YouTube superstar since he
got a hands-on lesson on crowd-surfing at a recent Christian rock festival, the Telegraph reports. The 65-year-old politician was hoisted over the crowd of 14,000 people for two full minutes, wearing a suit and his chain of office as fans gasped and giggled.
"I was on stage to say a few words and then I was asked if I wanted to go crowd surfing. I thought it might be going up in a crane lift and surfing the crowd from a height.," says Hizzoner. "Then before I knew it I was being lifted over the crowds. It was such a great sensation although I was a little bit concerned that I might lose my trousers. Now that I know what it means I might think twice about doing it." (More mayor stories.)
