Seagal Is Back, and This Time It's Personal

Steven Seagal, the high-kicking, cartel-busting action star that dominated the "Under Siege" movies in the early 90s, is demanding an apology from the FBI for allegedly shattering his stardom, the LA Times reports. Seagal's career didn't prove that hard to kill—he has been headlining in low-rent straight-to-DVD films ever since rumors surfaced that he had threatened journalists and had mob ties.

"False FBI accusations fueled thousands of articles saying that I terrorize journalists and associate with the Mafia," said the 56-year old Seagal. Five years ago, an FBI affidavit accused Seagal of hiring private eye Pellicano to harass a reporter working for the LA Times. But the martial artist was never charged, and now wants his name cleared, saying there's no evidence. (More Steven Seagal stories.)
