A mother who reported her toddler son missing over the weekend has been charged with his death after his body was found in a shallow grave in San Bernadino County, the Los Angeles Times reports. The boy's mother has been booked on suspicion of child abuse and being an accessory to murder, and her boyfriend has been charged with murder, torture, and child abuse causing death.
The pair said the 2-year-old went missing after a Mother's Day picnic, but "things just weren't adding up," according to a police spokesman. (More California stories.)
