A Louisiana town has taken a stand against saggy pants: starting tomorrow, anyone whose underwear shows will be hit with fines or jail time. And those who want to argue will just have to zip it. "Pull ‘em up or pay up," warned the police chief of Mansfield, population 5,496. Offenders of the Mansfield ordinance will face $150 fines or up to 15 days in jail.
The odd law wasn't even a clothes call; the town aldermen passed it unanimously yesterday afternoon. The legislation makes it illegal for residents to be in "any indecent exposure of his or her person or undergarments." Several other Louisiana municipalities have recently enacted similar laws, the Shreveport Times reports. (More clothes stories.)
