On the advice of a colleague, columnist Dana Milbank diligently read the comments left by some 1,800 readers last week. And he discovered some fascinating things. “On Tuesday, I learned that I am a right-wing hack. I am a certified idiot. I am Republican flack,” he writes in the Washington Post. “On Thursday, I realized that I am a media pimp with my lips on Obama’s butt.”
Pondering his critics, Milbank concluded that election anger hasn’t dissipated—even for the left, which, you know, won. One reader called it the "sore winner" phenomenon, saying people just "get used to being angry." Others seemed upset by President Obama's centrism. But "if we yell obscenities at Obama," wrote a reader, "we get a visit from the Secret Service. Yelling them at you is worry-free." (More Dana Milbank stories.)
