The drunk driver who killed a Los Angeles Angels pitcher and two others in a crash early yesterday will face murder charges, authorities told the Orange County Register today. Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, was arrested yesterday on manslaughter, hit-and-run, and drunken-driving charges. He will be arraigned Monday in the death of Nick Adenhart, 22, driver Courtney Stewart, 20, and Henry Pearson, 25.
Meanwhile, the Angels will retake the field tonight against the visiting Boston Red Sox after postponing last night’s game against Oakland. Players and coaches will wear a black patch featuring Adenhart’s No. 34 on the left breast of their jerseys for the rest of the season. Adenhart, who had made the Opening Day roster for the first time, was killed just hours after pitching six shutout innings on Wednesday night. (More Nick Adenhart stories.)
