Barack Obama may be a gifted politician, but a gifted bracketologist he is not. NCAA brackets across the nation’s capital were shredded this weekend, the Hill reports, as a slew of upsets took down all but one of the tournament’s top seeds. Just one member of the president’s final four is still standing, and John McCain, Mitch McConnell, and John Boehner aren’t in any better shape.

Obama, McCain, and Boehner all have their hopes pinned on that lone remaining 1-seed, UNC; all three picked the Tar Heels to win it all. McConnell, on the other hand, picked Louisville, which was upset by Michigan State yesterday. But there is good news for McCain: He’s 10 points ahead of Obama by ESPN’s scoring metric, and since their remaining picks are identical, he’s managed to beat the president in something.
