Octuplet Mom Calls Cops on Paps

Nadya Suleman is drawing all sorts of people to her new home, the Los Angeles Times reports, from paparazzi overrunning her property in suburban La Habra to prankster rappers claiming to be the octuplets' dad. The chaos led Suleman to call 911, and more than 200 residents complained to the police. Even a septuagenarian who copped to being “sick of reading about it” showed up: “We’re curious like anyone else,” she said.

“This is not safe for any of the kids,” Suleman told the 911 dispatcher. Municipal officials are scrambling to cope, and frustrated neighbors fashioned a barricade the cops made them take down. “The protesters, the media, the looky-loos, hopefully it blows over because this is awful,” said one. Meanwhile, the Whittier city manager spoke for Suleman’s former neighbors: “We’re pleased that she’s gone.”
