Dem Fundraisers See Gold Mine in Rush Uproar

Rush Limbaugh isn’t the only one cashing in on his new, higher profile. Democratic committees are using the uproar as a fundraising gimmick, the Washington Post reports. “When Rush says jump, Republicans say how high?” reads an email from the Senate campaign committee, urging GOP senators to “declare their independence.” The Democratic Governors Association, meanwhile, told supporters that giving to it would help stop Limbaugh.

The Democratic National Committee plans to erect an anti-Rush billboard in his hometown. If these initiatives are successful—and so far no one’s saying if they have been—they could be the real lasting impact of the Limbaugh hubbub.
