(AP Photo/Tom Uhlman) (Associated Press) All-time leading hitter Pete Rose may have dropped the ball at a local Army-sponsored baseball camp, the Cincinnati Enquirer writes. Instead of advice on hitting or sage life lessons, the former Red regaled 7 to 14-year-old kids with a profanity-laden rant that included a description of the time he "saw Joe DiMaggio in the shower and saw more of him than Marilyn Monroe ever did." Charlie Hustle also recounted anecdotes of controversial owner Marge Schott and told the youngsters that winning is everything. "It was like an uncle at Thanksgiving you want to stick in a back corner," one parent said. Rose did ask the children to "forgive his French," but even some kids said the notoriously outspoken ballplayer ruined an otherwise inspiring event. (More Pete Rose stories.) Report an error
