Undeterred by his recent divorce, French President Nicolas Sarkozy proposed the night he met Carla Bruni and promised that she would be his Marilyn Monroe, according to a new tell-all book. Author Jacques Seguela is the same pal who introduced the couple at Sarko's request, the Times of London reports.
"The unexpected game of seduction between two wild beasts" baffled guests, Seguela recalls. "I know everything about you because I am so much you," Sarkozy laid on flirty Bruni in his impulsive fashion. He promised to sit front row at her next concert and told guests they'd be engaged soon. Bruni faked disinterest, but as the wedding 7 weeks later attests, both were captivated.
