A 14-year-old boy posing as a Chicago traffic cop rode in a patrol car with a partner and completed five hours of a shift before anyone realized something was wrong. The teen turned up at a South Side police precinct in full uniform and fooled everyone except a single sergeant, reports Chicago's Channel 2 News.
The boy signed out a radio and citations book, but no weapon. He had no contact with the public, and officials don't believe he intended any harm. The teen has been charged with impersonating a police officer. "This individual has identified an egregious breech in security," a police official told reporters. "I probably have as many questions if not more than you."
