John Travolta’s parting words to his son were “I’m sorry, Jett,” as he held the teen’s body at the hospital, Inside Edition reports. Jett’s ambulance driver witnessed Travolta’s heartbreak throughout the ordeal, and reflected that “I think he meant, ‘I'm sorry, Jett. I did all I could do.’” Travolta himself performed CPR on the teen in the ambulance. "He was crying. His eyes were red," says the EMT. "I remember him looking up at the ceiling and saying, 'God, please help me.'"
Travolta himself piloted the family plane, the Jett Clipper Ella, as it carried his son's ashes home, the New York Daily News reports. After Jett’s autopsy, performed in front of the family doctor, “the police found no reason to detain the body," the funeral director said. Jett’s wake is planned for today, and his funeral for tomorrow.
