A captured terrorist has confessed that his group intended to blow up Mumbai's Taj Mahal hotel, and had enough explosives to reduce it to rubble in an "Indian 9/11," the Times of India reports. The 21-year-old Pakistani, apprehended after a gunfight in which he killed a police inspector, said he had come with the other attackers by boat from Karachi and had been instructed to "kill till the last breath."
Sources tell the Times that the terrorist, who had been discovered playing dead after the gunfight, was initially tight-lipped but pleaded for his life after being confronted with the corpse of a colleague. The man has reportedly provided investigators with vital information on the series of attacks that claimed 195 lives, and has been moved to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
