John McCain’s struggling campaign, hobbled by the economic crisis, will go back on the attack, the Washington Post reports. Insiders said targets would include Obama’s association with convicted developer Tony Rezko. Ads criticizing the Democratic candidate’s record on taxes have already run.

The Dems dismissed the new tactic as “trivial,” but the McCain camp was gung-ho. “We are looking for a very aggressive last 30 days,” a McCain aide said. “We are looking forward to turning a page on this financial crisis and getting back to discussing Mr. Obama's aggressively liberal record and how he will be too risky for Americans.” New TV ads are expected to run after the next presidential debate.
