Amy Winehouse's retro stylings have inspired an old pussycat to make a new album. Tom Jones, 68, is releasing his first new album in the US in November. It was listening to his fellow Brit's Back to Black that gave him ideas for the right sound for his famous voice, he tells AP.

"We've been thinking about this for a while, doing a retro sound but new," Jones said of the 24 Hours album. "And Amy Winehouse, she cracked it. When that album came out, my son called me right away and said, 'You know what we've been talking about? Listen to this.'" (More Tom Jones stories.)
