An obscure biography of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin by a Fairbanks author has rocketed to the bestseller list. Now the media is scrambling for interviews with Alaska author and journalist Kaylene Johnson, reports the Fairbanks Daily News Miner. "It's been a wild ride," said Johnson, who met with Palin twice to write Sarah: How a Hockey Mom turned Alaska's Political Establishment Upside Down.

When Johnson contacted Palin after publication in the spring for her opinion, the governor said she hadn't started it because it was too strange to read about herself. "Her husband and parents felt it was a good reflection of who she is," said Johnson, who wrote the book in 10 weeks. The author follows Palin's rise to the head of the state from her earliest years as an avid swimmer, basketball player and hunter, who shot her first rabbit at the age of 10.
