The National Enquirer is on the John Edwards case again this week, with a story offering salacious details of the affair with Rielle Hunter (offered by "friends") and a photo of the baby the tab says is his. Edwards not only promised Hunter they’d be together after his cancer-stricken wife died, the tab claims, but he called to reiterate the promise after he confessed the adultery on national television. And he “wouldn’t hear of” an abortion when she became pregnant, the paper says.
Just before his public confession he secretly flew Hunter and her 6-month-old daughter to St. Croix, the tab reports, where she stayed in a hotel owned by an Edwards pal. She's now back at her California home, they say, which is being paid for by Edwards’ former finance chairman. The Enquirer, which first broke the story, also claims in this issue that Edwards slept with Hunter the night they met at a NYC bar in 2006, and that she bragged about his sexual prowess to friends.
