The Bidens marked Tax Day on Monday by releasing their latest annual tax return, which revealed that last year the president and first lady earned an adjusted gross income of $619,976 and paid $146,629 in federal income tax. Their Delaware state income tax bill was $30,908, and Jill Biden paid another $3,549 in state income tax to Virginia, the Wall Street Journal reports. She teaches at a community college in Virginia, from which she earned $85,985, and her husband made $400,000 as president. The rest of their income came from interest, pensions, annuities, Social Security payments, IRA distributions, and royalties from Jill Biden's books, USA Today reports. Meanwhile, Donald Trump hasn't said whether he plans to release his tax returns.

"Once again demonstrating his commitment to being transparent with the American people, President Biden has released the most tax returns of any commander-in-chief while in office," the White House said in a statement. "President Biden believes that all occupants of the Oval Office should be open and honest with the American people, and that the longstanding tradition of annually releasing presidential tax returns should continue unbroken." Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff, meanwhile, reported income of $450,299 and $88,570 in federal income tax last year. They donated $23,026 to charities; the Bidens donated $20,477. (More Tax Day stories.)
