In March, the 26-year-old was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Prosecutors said she broke safety protocols and brought live ammunition onto the movie set. "But for you, Ms. Hutchins would be alive, a husband would have his partner, and a little boy would have his mother," Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer said. Gutierrez-Reed had asked the court to give her probation, the Santa Fe New Mexican reports. Failure to show remorse. The judge said Gutierrez-Reed had failed to show remorse, Variety reports. A filing from prosecutors stated that in phone calls from the jail where she has been held since last month, Gutierrez-Reed failed to accept responsibility for her actions and called jurors "idiots." "What I want is simply not possible." Rust director Joel Souza, who was injured by the bullet that killed Hutchins, spoke of his deep grief at the tragedy. "What I want is simply not possible. I want that none of this ever happened, that everyone is OK, that lives weren't destroyed," he said. "One moment the world made sense. The next moment it didn't, and it still doesn't, and I don't know if it ever will again." A mother's grief. Attorney Gloria Allred read out a statement from Hutchins' mother, Olga Solovey, who lives in Ukraine, the AP reports. Solovey said her life had been destroyed by her daughter's death and it was not getting better with time. "It's the hardest thing to lose a child," she said. "There's no words to describe." Another pending charge. NBC News reports that according to the filing from prosecutors, Gutierrez-Reed has another felony charge pending. The filing states that she allegedly sneaked a weapon past security in a Santa Fe bar, then "went into the restroom and made a selfie video stating 'They checked my purse but they didn't cheek my butt cheeks! Wah, wah, wah." Rust producer and star Alec Baldwin, who was pointing a gun at Hutchins when it went off, has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter. His trial is scheduled to begin in July.
