Tom Brady knows he's a talented quarterback, but he's pretty sure that doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. "Look at the attention I get: It's because I throw a football," he says in the September issue of Esquire. "But that's what society values. That's not what God values. I have some eye-hand coordination, and I can throw the ball. I don't think that matters to God." Other snippets from the interview:

  • On last year's Super Bowl loss: "What the hell are you gonna do about it? Sit there and bitch and complain and ruin the next two months of your life because something didn't go right for you?"
  • On his reputation for being boring: "Well, I don't believe that. I don't accept it. When people say that, I can just compartmentalize them."
  • On his private life: Ask, and the interview's over.
