Kamala Harris posted a photo of herself and her husband preparing Thanksgiving dinner. Pretty uncontroversial, right? Not so much: In the background of the photo looms a gas stove, the very same type of stove the federal government was rumored to be considering banning earlier this year. (The Biden administration quickly made clear that would not be happening, despite recent studies linking them to health issues including asthma in children.) Not surprisingly, this led to a lot of people calling the vice president and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff out over their ownership of the vilified appliance, Newsweek reports.
"Good morning to everyone except the never ending hypocrisy of the Commie Left - nice gas stove Kamala," wrote one X user in response to the VP's post, as cited by KATU. Some big names in politics, including former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Rep. Mike Collins of Georgia, were among those raising their eyebrows at Harris' post, Fox News reports. A Florida state legislator, Berny Jacques, posted on X, "Meanwhile they want you to give up your gas stoves, while they live it up with theirs. Friendly Reminder: not only will gas stoves remain legal in Florida, we also made them tax free!" (More Kamala Harris stories.)
