Dell has decided it’s time for a rematch with Apple’s iconic iPod, and the company is planning to introduce a new digital music player and online download service as early at September, the Wall Street Journal reports. Dell failed in its bid to gain a seat at the online music table with a stable of MP3 players it introduced in 2003.

Dell says its new offering includes a WiFi Internet connection, and a price tag under $100. A spokesman said the player would be able to access multiple online music services. Dell says its licensing agreement would allow users to move songs among a PC, the player, and cellphones. The company is hoping to lure Apple fans who are don't like iTunes' music-sharing policies.
