The pedestrian struck by Robert Novak's Corvette this week says that other than a dislocated shoulder, he’s “doing fine,” the Washington Post reports. In fact, Don Liljenquist seems more star-struck than car-struck: "Bob Novak is the one that hit me?" the homeless 86-year-old said in a radio interview. "He's a famous journalist! Well, I think that makes it a great story!"
Novak, 77, says he did not realize he’d hit anyone, although a lawyer on the scene who stopped Novak’s car and informed him of the collision said Liljenquist had a green light and wound up "sort of splayed into the windshield." The columnist received a $50 traffic citation for failing to yield. (More Robert Novak stories.)
