UK Protester Glues Self to Brown
Gordon Brown greets activist Dan Glass as Glass tries to glue himself to Brown. Plane Stupid says the 24-year-old slathered superglue on his hand and grasped the arm of Brown's suit during a ceremony.   (AP Photo)

An environmentalist tried to superglue himself to Gordon Brown last night inside 10 Downing St. Dan Glass was receiving an award from the British PM when he put his adhesive-slathered hand on the prime minister's forearm. The demonstrator stayed stuck to the PM for less than a minute, writes the Times of London, and will not face charges.

"I just glued myself to him and after 20 seconds he tore my hand off—it really hurt," said Glass, who is fighting Brown's planned expansion of Heathrow airport. "He had to give it a couple of tugs before it came away." After the incident Glass then tried to glue himself to the gates of Downing Street but was stopped by police. (More Gordon Brown stories.)
