Ringo Starr has become the latest star brought down by COVID—but the 82-year-old former Beatle hopes to get back on the road soon, a spokesperson says. Two US shows with his All-Starr band over the weekend were scrapped because Starr was feeling ill, and five more dates in Canada were axed after he tested positive Monday, the CBC reports. The spokesperson says decisions have yet to be made about other upcoming tour dates in the US and Mexico.
Starr, who lives in Beverly Hills, is "recovering at home" and hopes to resume touring as soon as possible, the spokesperson says, per the BBC. The first leg of Starr's long-delayed North American tour kicked off in May. In March of last year, he told USA Today that he had only left his home around six times in the previous 12 months. He said that while he'd been vaccinated and was "feeling groovy," he didn't think it was safe to tour yet. (More Ringo Starr stories.)
