Stephenie Meyer's mystery countdown is over: After the final seconds ticked off, the Twilight author announced that the long-awaited next installment in her wildly popular saga will be out in August, reports the Guardian. But this is a different kind of follow-up: It's a retelling of the story from the perspective of the vampire, Edward Cullen. (That would be Robert Pattinson, for fans of the film adaptations.) The original—whose first installment was published in 2005—was told from the perspective of Bella Swan (Kristin Stewart in the films), per Deadline.

"I am very excited to finally, finally announce the release of Midnight Sun on August 4th," Meyer said in a video broadcast on Good Morning America. "It's a crazy time right now and I wasn't sure it was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so so long it didn't seem right to make you wait any more." Meyer shelved the book more than a decade ago when part of it leaked online. (More Stephenie Meyer stories.)
