Rich space enthusiasts who can't get a seat on a rocket now can settle for having space come to them. Christie's has a chunk of the moon for sale, and it's valued at $2.5 million, reports Reuters. The lunar meteorite (designated formally as NWA 12691) weighs about 30 pounds, and it was discovered in the Sahara desert in 2017, per Forbes. It is exceedingly rare for a moon rock this big to be up for sale. Christie's notes that this is the fifth-largest specimen known on Earth, and this one is larger than any brought back by astronauts. The private sale began last week. "The experience of holding a piece of another world in your hands is something you never forget," says the auction house's resident science expert.
