Multiple workers at a Michigan Wendy's have been canned after a video showed one of their own bathing in a sink. The video, which ClickOnDetroit.com notes was originally posted on TikTok before ending up on a community Facebook page, shows a young man up to his chest in a sink full of sudsy water in the Greenville restaurant, laughing and chatting with other people nearby. "It feels like a hot tub," he announces. At one point, an employee in uniform throws something into the sink with the bather, directing him to "wash yourself." It's not clear who's recording the incident. Lex 18 News notes that while the worker isn't wearing a shirt, it's not clear if he had other clothes on underneath the water.
While some customers chuckled at the news, others were disgusted. "Do you think I'd ever go back there?" one said to WOOD. "They should be held accountable." "This egregious behavior is completely unacceptable and counter to our safety, training, and operational standards," reads a statement from franchise owner Team Schostak Family Restaurants, which adds all of the workers involved have been fired. The restaurant has also since been "completely sanitized" and had a visit from the health department, with no reported violations. (This isn't the first time this has happened at a Wendy's.)
