One of the House's seven impeachment managers is going to have to miss parts of President Trump's trial. Rep. Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, says his wife of 43 years, Joyce Miller, has pancreatic cancer and he will spent Monday with her in New York as she meets with doctors to determine "a path forward," reports Politico. "I am sorry to miss some of the Senate Impeachment Trial, which is of critical importance to our democracy," the Democrat said in a statement. "I plan to return to Washington late Monday and appreciate the support of my colleagues and staff as I take this time to be with my wife and begin the long fight against her cancer." Nadler said his wife was hospitalized and diagnosed with cancer in December, after the Judiciary Committee markup of the articles of impeachment, reports NBC New York. (Nadler said last week that Trump's conduct "puts even Nixon to shame.")
