Another sad chapter in the Bobbi Kristina Brown saga: Nick Gordon, Brown's boyfriend before her death in 2015, has died of a suspected drug overdose, TMZ reports. Gordon, who lived in Orlando, Florida, was 30 years old. Gordon was never charged in connection with Brown's death, which came six months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub, but he was found legally responsible for it in a civil case in 2016 and was ordered to pay her estate $36 million. Brown's mother, Whitney Houston, drowned in a bathtub in 2012. Gordon, who was brought into Houston's home as an orphan in 2012 but was never fully adopted, was raised alongside Brown and began dating her after her mother's death, the AP reports.
"My heart is heavy today after learning that my long time client Nick Gordon died," Gordon's attorney, Joe Habachy, said in a statement to CNN. "While I cannot speak to the specific circumstances of his death, I can say that it's been truly heartbreaking to have witnessed first hand the total devastation that drug addiction has wreaked upon a group of young friends, all of whom were loved and had immense potential," The wrongful death lawsuit accused Gordon of giving Brown a "toxic cocktail" of drugs and placing her face down in the tub after a fight. Max Lomas, the friend who found Brown and administered CPR until help arrived, died from an overdose in 2018. (More Bobbi Kristina Brown stories.)
