If Sharon Stone can't find love on Bumble, what hope is there for the rest of us? The 61-year-old Basic Instinct actress recently discovered that the first hurdle to clear on the dating app is to not get blocked in the first place, Mashable reports. "They closed my account. Some users reported that it couldn't possibly be me!" Stone lamented on Twitter early Monday, along with a screenshot of the "blocked" message from Bumble. "Hey @bumble, is being me exclusionary? Don’t shut me out of the hive." She soon had plenty of offers from those who saw a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capture Stone's eye.
Bloomberg notes Stone is merely the latest to experience firsthand the fact that dating apps are trying to cut down on fake profiles amid heightened scrutiny from such groups as the Federal Trade Commission. Page Six, meanwhile, wants to know why Stone was trying to use Bumble and not Raya, the exclusive dating site for celebrities that Nylon refers to as the "so-called Tinder for Illuminati." At the very least, it looks like Stone has renewed interest in finding a partner: In an interview last year with People, the mom of three said, "I think somewhere in the back of your mind you think maybe one day you won't be a single parent.
