Bear Caught Roaming University Campus

No humans—or bears—were harmed early Sunday after a 200-pound black bear wandered onto the University of Tennessee campus in Knoxville. Campus police say they called the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency after the female bear was spotted on the grounds, CNN reports. She was tranquilized and captured inside the Lindsay Nelson baseball stadium at around 4am. The bear wasn't in custody for long: Authorities say she was released into the Foothills Wildlife Management Area at the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park around noon on Sunday, reports the Knoxville News-Sentinel.
