Bill Cosby says he will never show remorse as a way to shorten his prison stay, but that doesn't mean he won't keep trying to undo his conviction. On Tuesday, however, Cosby got some bad news on that front: Pennsylvania's Superior Court unanimously rejected his appeal, reports USA Today. This isn't necessarily the end of the road because Cosby can now appeal to the state's Supreme Court. Among other things, Cosby's lawyers say the judge in his sexual abuse trial should not have allowed five women to testify, given that the charges against him pertained to only one woman, Andrea Constand.
The appeals court didn't buy that argument, saying that the women's testimony helped show a "signature" pattern of abuse on the part of Cosby. "We conclude that the trial court did not abuse its discretion by admitting the (prior bad acts) evidence and, therefore, Appellant’s first claim lacks merit," says the ruling. "This decision is a reminder that no one is above the law,” Constand tells the AP. Cosby spokesman Andrew Wyatt, on the other hand, says it shows that Pennsylvania's court system is corrupt.
