Stocks are closing higher on Wall Street, gaining back some of the ground they've lost over the previous three trading days, the AP reports. Technology and industrial companies were among the biggest winners Wednesday as traders became become more hopeful that a trade deal between the US and China was making progress. Texas Instruments and Union Pacific each rose 2.1%. Google parent Alphabet rose 1.9% after co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page relinquished their management roles. The S&P 500 rose 19 points, or 0.6% to 3,112. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 146 points, or 0.5%, to 27,649. The Nasdaq rose 46 points, or 0.5%, to 8,566. (More stock market stories.)
