George and Kellyanne Conway have made their opinions of President Trump clear: He can't stand the man, while she is one of his most enthusiastic defenders. While that no doubt makes for some interesting conversations in the Conway household, they have largely refrained from clashing publicly—until now. George Conway, who is one of Trump's most prominent conservative critics, fired back at his wife, a senior Trump adviser, after she mocked Joe Biden on Twitter on Monday, USA Today reports. "Sleepy Joe is Creepy Joe. We need Ukraine's help to defeat THIS guy?" she tweeted, sharing a video of Biden talking about how children played with his wet leg hair when he was a lifeguard.
George Conway, who has more than 800,000 followers and provided analysis of the impeachment hearings for MSNBC, copied the tweet, adding: "Your boss apparently thought so." Trump has referred to George Conway, who regularly slams the president on Twitter, as a "total loser" and a "husband from hell." The Conways haven't directly clashed over Trump on social media until now, the Washington Post notes, but she made her feelings clear in a Post profile last year. She told reporter Ben Terris that her husband's anti-Trump tweets were a "violation of basic decency, certainly, if not marital vows," then tried to take her remarks off the record.
